Rishma began her professional career as an on-air reporter and host for Asia’s number one music channel “Channel V” where she was a very well known VJ. Gaining valuable hands-on production expertise and clocking over four years of experience working at the front line of Television in Mumbai, Hong Kong and Singapore, Rishma went on to attain a lead reporter/anchor position in arts and entertainment news for Chum Television’s “City Pulse”. Producing credits include the BravoFACT funded short “Rosie Take The Train” which won a Gold REMI award at the Worldfest Houston Film Festival in 2012. She has also produced several music videos for Fireboy Films for artists such as, Delerium, The Barenaked Ladies and Hunter Valentine.

- Hosted the ‘News at Noon’, CP24 and ‘City News Tonight’ with Mark Daley. Reporter for City Pulse at Six.
Selected story items from incoming Reuters and press releases. Field producing, copywriting, research story editing. Worked closely with editors to produce daily news package. Delivered ‘live on location’ on-camera sound bites.
Interviewed high profile guests. Collaborated with camera operators to create visual opportunities that worked in conjunction with story structure.

Channel V International/ Star TV, Mumbai 1996 – 2000
- Hosted a handful of countdown shows including; “V 1’s”, “Billboard Top 20”, Indian Top Ten and ‘Film Frames’ to viewers across Asia with a viewer ship of 400 million households.
- Gained on-location shoot experience. Traveled throughout Asia with camera crew and producers to cover concerts, record releases, & galas. Researched and wrote own copy for scripted throws to camera, improvised material and prepared Interviews with celebrity guests.
- “Peace Together” (1998) Event coordinated, and emceed live on stage ‘live to air’ televised concert for peace to a stadium of youth. Introduced special guests of honor on stage including Booker Prize winning author Arundhati Roy (The God of small things), Award winning Director Mira Nair (Monsoon Wedding), Bollywood Actor Amir Khan and numerous other noteworthy names.
